Do you ever wish you could go back in time and change
something? Do something over again, so that maybe this time you wouldn’t make
as many mistakes? I think at some point we all feel this way. We all wonder
what things would be like if we hadn’t done this or that, or if we had taken
that risk and stepped out of our comfort zone and done that thing we regret not
doing.
But it’s useless wishing you could change things. You won’t
be able to. There is no time machine. Life doesn’t give us do-overs. That only
happens in fairy tales and science fiction. What’s done is done, and there’s no
changing it.
But you can learn from it. You can make sure it doesn’t happen
again. Next time life hands you an opportunity, you can take it. Next time you
feel selfish or get upset, you can think of the future consequences of what you
might say. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting
different results. Maybe it’s about time we learned from our mistakes the first
time.
